Bruno Pélassy and the Order of the Starfish

Mit Bruno Pélassy and the Order of the Starfish präsentiert das Haus am Waldsee die erste institutionelle Ausstellung des französischen Künstlers in Deutschland. Bruno Pélassy wurde 1966 in Vientiane, Laos, geboren und starb 2002 in Nizza an den Folgen einer AIDS-Erkrankung im Alter von 36 Jahren. Sein exzentrisches, widerständiges und zugleich überaus sinnliches Werk tritt dabei in den Austausch mit ausgewählten Kunstwerken anderer Künstler*innen. Die Gruppenausstellung präsentiert Beiträge von Marc Camille Chaimowicz, Beth Collar, Jesse Darling, Brice Dellsperger, Leonor Fini, Ull Hohn, Natacha Lesueur, Jean Painlevé & Geneviève Hamon, James Richards sowie Soshiro Matsubara, der auch die eindringliche Ausstellungsarchitektur entwickelt hat.

Jeden zweiten Freitag im Monat (2 F M) ist das Haus am Waldsee bis 20 Uhr geöffnet. Ab 18 Uhr führt Sie ein Art Guide durch Bruno Pélassy and the Order of the Starfish und freut sich anschließend auf weiteren Austausch zur aktuellen Ausstellung. Unser Café bietet dazu wechselnde Specials: am 10.11. gibt es Crémant & Blaue Suppe – eine Spezialität Bruno Pélassys. Im Außenbereich erwartet Sie unsere Feuerschale.

With Bruno Pélassy and the Order of the Starfish the Haus am Waldsee presents the French artist’s first institutional exhibition in Germany. Pélassy was born in 1966 in Vientiane, Laos, and died in 2002 in Nice as a result of AIDS at the age of thirty-six. His eccentric, subversive, and at the same time extremely sensual oeuvre rubs shoulders with selected works by other artists. The group exhibition presents contributions by Marc Camille Chaimowicz, Beth Collar, Jesse Darling, Brice Dellsperger, Leonor Fini, Ull Hohn, Natacha Lesueur, Jean Painlevé & Geneviève Hamon, James Richards as well as Soshiro Matsubara who also devised the exhibition’s architecture.

Free admission to many museums and exhibition spaces in Berlin, every 1st Sunday of the month. A booked time slot is necessary for visiting, the booking is possible one week before. Last-minute time slots are available on 5.11. at 10 am.

Every second Friday of the month (2 F M), the Haus am Waldsee is open until 8 pm. From 6 pm, an Art Guide will lead you through Bruno Pélassy and the Order of the Starfish and then look forward to further exchanges on the current exhibition. Our Café offers changing specials: on 10.11. there will be Crémant & Blue Soup – a speciality of Bruno Pélassy. Our fire bowl awaits you in the outdoor area.
