BFW AW26: Ritual Unions — Couture as Collective Ceremony
Ritual Unions AW26 turns couture into ceremony: structured silhouettes, sculptural draping, and live performance fuse fashion with ritual in Berlin.
In the heart of Berlin, Ritual Unions transformed RAUM.Berlin into a stage for living couture, curated by Fashion Council Germany. AW26 unfolded as a contemporary ritual: a meditation on freedom, presence, and collective experience in the city’s electric alternative scene.
At the center, a lavish dinner table installation—crafted with Flores y Amores—hosted a nude male performer, recalling da Vinci’s Last Supper through a modern, subversive lens. The image was decadent, absurd, and deliberately unsettling, confronting tradition while asking: who is celebrated, and why?

The collection itself mirrored this tension. Post-bridal couture became ceremonial armor: structured silhouettes, visible corsetry, sculptural draping, and tactile embellishments balanced restraint with exposure. Fabrics embraced and framed the body intentionally, echoing the performance’s core message—clothing as both protection and statement.


A live audio excerpt set the emotional tone:
“I dress for alignment, not approval. For truth, not consistency. For the self I am today.”
Rather than a spectacle, the show presented fashion as living ritual—an act of gathering, witnessing, and shared presence. Berlin, where misfits build altars and community replaces convention, provided the perfect backdrop. Ritual Unions translated that spirit into garments that exist between ceremony and rebellion.


Every detail reinforced the concept: sculptural jewelry by Gina Melosi heightened ceremonial tension; hair and makeup, crafted by a multidisciplinary Berlin team, highlighted collective authorship; set design enveloped performers and audience alike in a narrative of ritual and intimacy.


AW26 is not just a collection—it is a living experience. Here, couture transcends display: it becomes presence, reflection, and participation. Ritual Unions continues to redefine bridal codes, forging a visual language of freedom, identity, and radical craftsmanship.

BFW AW26: DAMUR — Fashion That Floats through space
DAMUR dissolves the runway into water. At Liquidrom, AW26 floats between skin, steam, and street—where fashion slows down and learns to breathe.
Winter in Berlin is usually gray. DAMUR turned it into liquid chrome. At Liquidrom, the iconic saltwater spa, AW26 unfolded as a living experiment: a runway that wasn’t observed—it was inhabited. Guests arrived in bathrobes, chrome, lace, and lingerie, barefoot or clutching slippers, moving freely between sauna, steam, and pool. Phones were down. Schedules paused. Fashion slowed.


“Fashion SPA Day,” subtitled Do You Wet Dream?, transformed the space into an ecosystem where heat, humidity, and water dictated form. The poolside presentation moved in three acts—Super-Human, Super-Athlete, Super-Cyborg—turning body mapping, cut-outs, and lingerie codes into a physical language. Skin was framed, not exposed; vulnerability became structure; intimacy, a silhouette.
Do You Wet Dream?
AW26 balanced opposites: streetwear tailoring against flowing organza, oversized volumes against second-skin pieces. Knits and jerseys stretched and clung, coated finishes caught the dome light, metallics shimmered. Then the defining moment: three models stepped into the pool. Fabric floated. Light danced. Gravity bowed to water. Fashion became ritual.


Beauty and footwear were functional, real: sleek wet-look hair by Paul Mitchell, movement-ready shoes by Wildling. Sound shaped the mood—from warm house to tribal techno—synchronizing bodies, clothes, and water into a single rhythm.
Damur Huang’s vision was clear: slow down, reset, feel again. “We can always adapt and move forward with better energy,” he said. In the spa, his philosophy was lived, not spoken.

South African Afro-House Duo Black Motion ‘Better Than That’
Black Motion drop a powerful Afro-House remix of Lisa Ramey’s “Better Than That”, infusing South African rhythms with her soaring vocals for a dancefloor hit.
Afro House aficionados Black Motion released a potent Afro-House remix of New York-based R&B singer Lisa Ramey’s hit ‘Better Than That’, on December 5th, 2025 via Lisa Ramey Music. Black Motion is a South African producer duo formed in 2010. The original members were Thabo “Smol” Mabogwane and Bongani “Murdah Bongz” Mohosana. They are now joined by Kabelo “Problem Child Ten83” Koma.
Renowned for their powerful percussion and rich African rhythms, they have released music on the prominent record label, Defected Records. They earned multiple South African Music Awards, including Best Duo/Group of the Year.
They were certified Gold on their LP Fortune Teller, and achieved platinum and won for Best Dance Album for Ya Badimo. Their 2024 album The Cradle of Art received four SAMA31 nominations. Additionally, they landed a performance on a NPR TIny Desk (Home) concert, cementing their status as one of South Africa’s most celebrated and influential dance music acts.
Hitting off with The Voice
Lisa Ramey first caught national attention as a finalist on NBC’s hit music competition show, The Voice, where she performed on Team Legend. She stepped further into the spotlight earlier this year. She was one of two vocalists on tour in the USA with Zayn Malik’s all-female seven-woman band.
After headlining alongside Ms. Lauryn Hill, she took her soulful rock artistry to the limit with her debut album Surrender (2020), which made it to #34 on Good Morning America’s Top 50 Albums of 2020. Ramey was included alongside artists like John Legend, Camilla Cabello and Common as part of the Global Citizen “Together at Home” concert series.
‘Better Than That’
‘Better Than That’ is taken off Lisa’s 2024 EP Foretaste, which has gained over 665,000 streams on Spotify alone. This release was produced by Joe Capo Kent, a three-time GRAMMY-nominated producer, with mixing by Sam Maul of Shock City Studios and mastering by Glenn Schick, all contributing their extensive experience to the project.
“When the challenge came to remix Lisa Ramey’s ‘Better Than That’, we were all in. We wanted to bring our own touch and feel to the song, giving her audience a taste of the South African vibe. With Spice Drums adding his signature feel, we hope people feel the same energy and joy we felt while creating it.”
Black Motion‘Better Than That’ is a stick of soul-pop dynamite, blending cinematic production, lush instrumentation, and intricate percussion beneath Lisa Ramey’s soaring vocals as she passionately laments a relationship’s downfall.

Club & Raum Konferenz: Clubkultur braucht Raum zum Atmen
Berlin schützt seine Clubkultur! Auf der Club & Raum Konferenz diskutieren Politik, Verwaltung & Immobilienwirtschaft konkrete Schritte für Nachtleben.
Die Clubcommission bringt Politik, Verwaltung, Immobilienwirtschaft und die Clubkultur an einen Tisch. Die zweite Club & Raum Konferenz zeigte nicht nur, wie dringend Berlin sein Nachtleben schützen muss, sondern auch, wie viel in der Stadt bereits in Bewegung ist und welche konkreten Schritte jetzt gemeinsam gehen können.
Morgens um neun vor der Ritter Butzke: Um diese Uhrzeit gehen sonst durchgefeierte Menschen ihren Heimweg. Jetzt stehen dort gut gekleidete Menschen mit neugierigen Gesichtern. Sie halten Kaffeebecher in der Hand. Muss man Angst haben, dass hier bald der nächste Büroturm entsteht?

Im Gegenteil: Die Clubcommission hat zur zweiten Club & Raum Konferenz eingeladen und Menschen aus Immobilienwirtschaft, Verwaltung, Politik und natürlich der Berliner Clubkultur zusammengebracht. Am Mittwoch, dem 28. Januar 2026, bot der Fachtag für Fragen rund um Stadtentwicklung, Zusammenarbeit, Raumbedarf und Kommunikation einen gebührenden Jahresauftakt für die Clubkultur.
Für einen starken Auftakt sorgten internationale Best Practice Beispiele aus London, Kharkiv und Berlin. Während in London ein gemeinschaftlich getragenes Clubmodell neue Wege der Raumnutzung aufzeigt, entstand in Kharkiv nahe der Frontlinie ein neuer Club, der im wahrsten Sinne des Wortes ein Safer Space ist.
Anton Nazarko vom Kulturzentrum Some People reiste zwei Tage mit dem Zug nach Berlin. Er wollte zeigen, welche existenzielle Bedeutung Clubkultur haben kann. Auf einer bombensicheren Tanzfläche begegnen sich dort Kulturschaffende, Nachbar:innen und Soldaten gemeinsam, auch wenn nur wenige Kilometer weiter der Krieg tobt.
Politisches Forum: Parteien setzen Zeichen für Berliner Clubkultur
Den Höhepunkt des Tages bildete das politische Forum unter der Moderation von Marcel Weber, dem Vorsitzenden der Clubcommission Berlin. Vertreter:innen aller demokratischen Fraktionen im Berliner Abgeordnetenhaus diskutierten über die Voraussetzungen für die langfristige Sicherung der Berliner Clubkultur.
Auf dem Podium saßen Werner Graf (MdA, Bündnis 90/Die Grünen), Dennis Haustein (MdA, CDU), Tamara Lüdke (MdA, SPD) und Niklas Schenker (MdA, Die Linke). Die Clubcommission agierte mit der Konferenz bewusst als Brückenbauerin. Mit rund 130 Teilnehmenden vor Ort bot die Veranstaltung Raum für direkten Austausch. Dies geschah zwischen Menschen mit Ideen aus der Clubkultur und Akteur:innen mit Raum aus der Immobilienwirtschaft. Diese sind teilweise aus ganz Deutschland extra angereist.
Durch den Tag führten Katharin Ahrend (Clubcommission) und Andreas Krüger (Belius). In Matchmaking-Sessions präsentierten Vertreter:innen des Haus der Statistik, Trockland und GSE ihre konkreten Flächenangebote. Auch die developer, Alte Post Strausberg, Studentendorf Schlachtensee und das Kulturzentrum Vollgut boten konkrete Flächen an. Anschließend gab es die Möglichkeit für Interessierte, miteinander ins Gespräch zu kommen, um mögliche Kooperationen anzubahnen.
Gleichzeitig knüpfte die Veranstaltung damit an die letztjährige Konferenz an, stärkte Netzwerke und zeigte, wie groß der Wille und die Energie aller Beteiligten ist.
Die Clubcommission als zentraler und treibender Motor
Acht Monate vor der Abgeordnetenhauswahl am 20. September 2026 benannte Tamara Lüdke (SPD) das zentrale Problem: „Es ist ein drohendes Clubsterben. Jetzt ist es Zeit, politisch zu handeln.” Lüdke forderte verbindliche rechtliche Verankerung: „Lärmschutzmaßnahmen für denjenigen, der anbaut, nicht für die, die da sind.”
Werner Graf (Bündnis 90/die Grünen) forderte strukturelle Förderung für Clubs, die auf Nachwuchs setzen, ähnlich wie in anderen Kultursparten bereits üblich, während Dennis Haustein (CDU) betonte: “Die Strahlkraft der Kreativwirtschaft, ob Oper oder Clubkultur, dürfen nicht gegeneinander ausgespielt werden.”
Zu hohe Leerstandsquote
Graf kritisierte zudem die Stadtentwicklung scharf: „1,7 Millionen Quadratmeter Büroflächen stehen leer, und wir wollen noch mehr bauen! Das müssen wir in eine andere Nutzung überführen.” Eine Zwischennutzungsagentur könne Bürokratie reduzieren und „Menschen mit Ideen zu Menschen mit Räumen” bringen. Zudem könne „die Anpassung bezirklicher Bebauungspläne den Schutz und die Sicherung von Clubstandorten unterstützen”, so Hausstein. Niklas Schenker (Linke) wird im Ton noch schärfer. Er prangert eine nach seiner Meinung profit- und investorengetriebene Stadtentwicklung an. Mieter:innen und auch Kulturorte leiden darunter.
Die Clubcommission erhielt parteiübergreifend Lob: Haustein bezeichnete sie als „zentralen und treibenden Motor“, Lüdke als „zentralen Pfeiler” mit beratender Funktion. Schenker warb dafür, mit der Clubcommission als “durchsetzungstarken Lobbyverband” gemeinsam für den Erhalt von Kulturflächen zu kämpfen. Marcel Weber kündigte an: „Mit Blick auf die Wahlen wird es nicht die letzte Runde sein.” Die Clubcommission wird darüber hinaus in den kommenden Wochen Wahlprüfsteine an die Parteien richten.
Soziale Funktion von Nachtkultur
Doch das war längst nicht alles: “Das Nachtleben kann Schutzräume bieten, vor allem wenn Menschen wegen Diskriminierung im Alltag sonst eher ausgeschlossen werden”, so Prof. Dr. Anna Steigemann von der Technischen Universität Berlin. Clubkultur schafft soziale Infrastruktur und einen Mikrokosmos, in dem gesellschaftliche Fragen verhandelt und Transformation angestoßen werden.
Neue Instrumente für die Stadtentwicklung
Das Agent-of-Change-Prinzip oder eine Gewerbemietbremse können entscheidende Hebel sein, so Ricarda Pätzold vom Deutschen Institut für Urbanistik. Innovation entstehe dort, wo Räume Luft zum Atmen haben, ohne ökonomischen Dauerstress und mit genügend Spielraum seitens der Behörden, so Pätzold.
Kulturraummanagement als Schnittstelle
Ein zentrales Kulturraummanagement innerhalb der Verwaltung kann zwischen Politik, Verwaltung und Eigentümer:innen vermitteln. Das zeigten David Nil Morsi und Benjamin Thele am Beispiel Köln und machten deutlich, wie so das Verständnis für Clubkultur gestärkt werden kann.
Forderungskatalog Zwischennutzungen
Im Oktober 2024 haben Clubcommission Berlin und Transiträume e.V. einen Forderungskatalog vorgelegt, der konkrete Maßnahmen für systematische Flächenaktivierung aufzeigt. Leerstände sind eine ungenutzte Stadtressource. Der Katalog zeigt, was in anderen Städten bereits funktioniert. Zu den bewährten Maßnahmen gehören rechtliche Verankerung, standardisierte Verfahren, eine städtische Zwischennutzungsagentur sowie Aktivierungsanreize für Eigentümer*innen. Zudem ist die strategische Verankerung in der Stadtentwicklung entscheidend.

He was a precocious artist with a dream and a debut album, Herzensangelegenheit (2012), on Parquet Recordings. Fast-forward to today. With over 140 million Spotify streams and support from renowned publications, his influence on the global electronic music landscape is undeniable.
With albums like Exit (2013) and Blitzbahn (2018), Schories has achieved significant recognition. These were released on renowned labels such as Stil vor Talent and Get Physical. As a result, Schories has cemented his place among Germany’s top DJ/live acts. It draws inspiration from Jeff Buckley, Bon Iver, James Blake, and Radiohead. The track features a haunting vocal performance by french underground legend dynArec which is alienated by a vintage vocoder. The mysterious Vaporwave label founder who’s active since the 90s has been supported by the likes of Helena Hauff & Dave Clarke.
The EP also features a remix by PRZ, a Berlin-based DJ and producer known for his celestial melodies and dusky, energetic beats. His version takes the original into darker territory, layering high-hats, moody pads, and punchy basslines to build intensity. Futuristic synth lines add a contrasting lightness, turning the remix into a sublime, sci-fi-tinged journey.
