ECCE NATURA –
AN EXHIBITION OF OUR TIMES

ECCE NATURA is a preamble to the exhibition ECCE HOMO, presented for the first time at the Musée national de la Résistance et des Droits humans in Luxembourg. The show now develops themes from a different perspective; it also introduces new works delving deeper into the existential relationship of human beings and the intricacies of their relationships to one another as well as to nature.

Both these relationships could be resumed as extreme forms of domination. Mankind, in his will to dominate sets himself definitively apart from the natural world. The exhibition’s opening will be complemented by a captivating performance by the esteemed Tebby W.T. Ramasike. The South African choreographer, performer, dance teacher, researcher in dance and cultural activist was born in Johannesburg in 1965.

LIMBO

With “Limbo”, ARTCO Aachen presents Pierre le Riche’s first solo exhibition in Europe. Le Riche, born in South Africa in 1986, holds a Master of Fine Arts from the University of Cape Town and has in the past created bespoke installations for e.g. Daimler and Cartier. His artistic practice fuses sculpture and craft, although he does not allow himself to be pinned down to a particular medium.Entitled “Limbo”, the exhibition brings together artworks that describe Pierre le Riche’smental state after immigrating to Germany from his native South Africa.

In these introspective works, he explores the common malaise that many immigrants face when confronted with a disruptive new reality that exists beyond mere language and cultural barriers. Through the use of fabrics, in both two and three dimensional forms, the artist reflects on loss, displacement and the confrontation with the self. Something he describes as his personal limbo; a moment between two phases of belonging.

Heute stellen wir euch Supernova vor: eine Pop-up Galerie, welche im August im Haus am See ihr Gruppenprojekt "Foodporn" präsentiert. ... @artweaponphotography #artnow: The current exhibition at the @koeniggalerie showcases a wide variety of critical works and sculptures from artists like JOANA VASCONCELOS, JULIA BELIAEVA, ARMIN BOEHM amongst others.
