Oh! – Alien feat. Alexander Price via Iptamenos Discos

Oh! Massimo Braghieri and Gianluca Pighi created this track during lockdown. What began as a ping-pong of creative ideas between the two. Quickly gained traction and now erupts as an explosive culmination of their respective musical dexterity and fearless analogue exploration.

Elfo Recording Studios in northern Italy recorded ‘Alien’ with state-of-the-art technology. It is a sonic ode to a human’s doomed and misaligned love for an extraterrestrial. The extraterrestrial is “intellectually superior, but emotionally inferior.”

The duo orbit the classic genres that shaped their evolution as DJs and music producers. They pay respectful homage to synth pop and post punk bands like DEVO and The Human League.

The track features the enigmatic Alexander Price. He revives the drastic and brazen vocal style. This unapologetic style defined the electroclash scene of the early 2000s.

With 80s-leaning tones, this single features inescapable hooks and sparkling synth-driven sonics. Set to release digitally on December 4th, 2024 via Iptamenos Discos!

About:

Iptamenos Discos is a Berlin-based music collective, record label, and event series founded in 2021 by the duo Local Suicide. The label name, meaning “flying saucer” in Greek, reflects its cosmic and eclectic approach to music. Iptamenos Discos showcases a variety of genres such as dark disco, synthwave, EBM, Italo disco, and indie dance, blending nostalgic elements from the ’80s and ’90s with modern sounds.

Initially established to release Local Suicide’s debut album, Eros Anikate, the label quickly expanded its scope, featuring artists like Dina Summer, Boys’ Shorts, Kalipo, and Skelesys. It has gained recognition for its high-quality releases, earning accolades like Beatport’s “Label of the Month.” The label is also known for its Iptamenos Diskotek event series, hosting club nights across Berlin, Paris, Thessaloniki, and beyond.

In 2023, the collective released a compilation titled Iptamenos Discotek Vol. 1 and a nostalgic mixtape KASETA 001, celebrating their diverse roster of artists and remixes. The group also launched a publishing company, Iptamenos Notes, to support artists with royalties and opportunities for TV, film, and ads.
