Reading Time:
1–2 minutes

The NBB is pleased to announce NBB IV with a special lineup of 14 artists for this upcoming exhibition. Please join us for the opening, starting at 6 PM on Thursday, April 30th for an enthralling journey of figuration, abstraction, and urban narrative.

Very diverse themes and narratives are encompassed in this captivating curation. Modern subject matters influence these artists. Including subjects such as digitalization, urban deconstruction, nature, and the internal representations of our surroundings. At first glance, we might question the parallels between such distinct voices, yet a deeper connection emerges in their shared exploration of the world around us.

About the Artists:

From Christian August’s atmospheric, “post-human Eden” landscapes, neon colors meet misty, dreamlike horizons. The intuitive, gestural power of Kyte Tatt balances chaos and order with nature-inspired immediacy. Each artist impacts the viewer with a unique vision. We see the influence of urban architecture and “found” materials in the deconstructed mosaics of Clemens Behr, while Sharmila Banerjee brings a narrative depth through her background in illustration and biographical storytelling.

A fascination with the subconscious and the “inner cinema” reappears in the works of Janes Haid-Schmallenberg, whose paintings capture fleeting daydreams and associative thoughts. Meanwhile, the delicate, often melancholic explorations of identity are present in Gemma Solà Sotos’ work. These explorations of intimacy provide a poetic counterpoint to the vibrant energy of the group. While they all possess very different styles, what these artists share is an omnipresent curiosity and a sophisticated approach to representing the complexities of modern life.
