In recent years, Paris has reasserted itself as a key capital for electronic nightlife. Yet it still lacked a venue capable of standing alongside Europe’s most influential clubs. Mia Mao arrives to fill that gap. A large-scale indoor club entirely dedicated to electronic culture, Mia Mao places the audience experience at the center of every detail. Conceived as a space for total immersion, it channels the spirit of the institutions that have shaped scenes in cities like Berlin and London.
With Mia Mao, Paris finally gains the kind of venue that secures its place among Europe’s leading clubbing destinations.

The Site
Set within a former industrial hall at the Parc de la Villette, Mia Mao unfolds across 3,000 m² of striking architecture.
With 7-meter-high ceilings, vaults, and structural pillars, the space offers a rare sense of openness for an indoor club – designed to fully absorb the audience into the music. At its core lies a monumental main room, equipped with a custom-built sound system, bespoke light installations, and a large mezzanine overlooking the dancefloor.
The indoor space extends into a spacious outdoor area – a place to step out, connect, or reset between moments on the floor. Every element has been designed to ensure a fluid, immersive journey, where architecture enhances collective experience.
The project was developed with the support of the Ministry of Culture, the Île-de-France Region, the City of Paris, the 19th arrondissement, the National Music Centre, and the Public Establishment of the Park and Grande Halle de la Villette.
Blending Brutalist aesthetics with industrial architecture, Mia Mao occupies a truly singular environment.

Disconnect to connect: a no-photo policy
Mia Mao is built around presence. To preserve it, the club enforces a strict no-photo policy. By covering phone cameras at the entrance, guests are encouraged to disconnect from screens and fully engage with the music, the artists, and the shared energy of the dancefloor.
This approach invites a collective focus on what matters most: sound, space, and connection. Official photographers and videographers capture selected moments, with the collective FOMO in residence to document the experience.
At Mia Mao, immersion is not a concept – it’s the foundation. Mia Mao is driven by strong artistic identities, beginning with its resident artists. For its second season, Mia Mao brings together four internationally recognized residents: Dave Clarke, Camille Doe, Manu Le Malin, and Koboyo.
Dave Clarke’s Off The Grid residency reflects his uncompromising vision of techno. A central figure of the global scene for over three decades, he curates line-ups that move between electro, industrial textures, and forward-facing rave energy.
Koboyo, co-founder of the Exil Factory collective, channels nearly a decade of dedication to hypnotic techno and the Berlin underground spirit. His Bouncin events emphasize groove-driven selections with a distinctive rhythmic identity.
Camille Doe, a Paris-based DJ and producer, blends house, hip-hop, and tech-house into high-energy sets. Through her collective GOGO GREEN and releases on Toolroom Records, she has quickly established herself as a rising force. Her residency, Check This Out, reflects this dynamic approach.
Manu Le Malin, a defining figure of the French hardcore and techno scenes, brings decades of influence rooted in the early rave era. With his Lycanthropie nights, he bridges generations – combining emerging artists with established names. He is also curator of the hardcore stage at the Astropolis Festival.

An Ecosystem
Mia Mao extends far beyond the club itself. The project began as a YouTube platform, showcasing DJ sets and interviews filmed in its now-iconic black-and-white checkerboard studio.
In 2024, it expanded into a label featuring artists such as Proxyma, Electric Rescue, Madben, and Kmyle, alongside a web radio broadcasting recorded sets. In September 2025, Mia Mao Music hosted its first large-scale event at Kilomètre25, with artists including Dave Clarke, Misstress Barbara, Manu Le Malin, and Alys LF. Since 2023, Mia Mao has evolved into a multi-platform cultural project.

The District
Located within the Parc de la Villette, on the edge of Pantin, Mia Mao sits at the heart of one of Paris’s most active cultural and nightlife districts.
La Villette is known for its openness and diversity – a place where daytime cultural programming meets nighttime energy. Mia Mao strengthens this dynamic, contributing to the emergence of a fully developed cultural and festive hub in the northeast of Paris.
The area is increasingly recognized across Europe as one of the city’s most vital creative zones.

Innovation
Mia Mao is conceived as both a club and a laboratory for technical and artistic innovation. The team chose to rehabilitate an existing structure rather than building from scratch. They adapted it with tailored solutions designed to reduce energy consumption. These solutions ranged from advanced insulation to an efficient large-scale ventilation system.
The venue also hosts ongoing technical residencies with two French companies: Solution 63 Hz (sound) and Minuit Une (lighting).

The sound system was designed by David Rousseau, a specialist in large-scale acoustic systems. Built locally, it delivers high-impact clarity while complying with strict public health and environmental standards.
His previous work includes renowned venues and festivals such as Concrete, Sacré, Marsatac, La Cigale, and Zénith Paris.
Light: Minuit Une
Minuit Une develops cutting-edge immersive lighting systems using its IVL laser-based technology. These modular fixtures allow for highly adaptable visual environments, transforming the space into a fully responsive sensory experience.
Energy-efficient and versatile, they replace traditional lighting systems with a more sustainable approach.
