About frontviews
frontviews is a Berlin-based curatorial collective and platform for contemporary art. Founded in 2004, it brings together artists, curators, writers, and cultural practitioners to collaboratively explore experimental formats of exhibition-making and critical dialogue. With a strong focus on interdisciplinary approaches, frontviews initiates projects that investigate the social and political dimensions of artistic practice while fostering a space for emerging and mid-career artists to engage in public discourse.
Since 2020, frontviews has operated out of HAUNT, a hybrid cultural space located in a former military building in Berlin-Tiergarten. HAUNT functions as both an exhibition venue and a site for artistic research, talks, workshops, and performances. Together, frontviews and HAUNT offer a collaborative infrastructure that values collective authorship, process-based work, and a long-term commitment to artistic experimentation.
The collective’s projects often highlight topics such as migration, identity, environmental change, digital culture, and the ethics of representation. Through exhibitions, publications, residencies, and discursive formats, frontviews cultivates a reflective and inclusive cultural space in Berlin’s evolving art landscape.
