ethereal melodies: Macgray presents his new EP “Horizon”

Horizon blends elements of ambient, deep house, and techno, capturing a spectrum of emotions through instrumental electronic music. Horizon draws inspiration from different subgenres. This includes artists like Christian Löffler, Ben Böhmer, and Fejkà, as well as Max Cooper, Moderat, and Jon Hopkins. Horizon uses various musical languages to embark listeners on a cinematic journey. The EP explores an unique perspective on emotions, with each track serving as a sonic reflection of a distinct experience.

Opening with Envelop immersing listeners are transported in a comforting soundscape reminiscent of being wrapped in a cozy blanket amidst a world of vibrant colors. Flying follows with ethereal melodies that evoke a sense of boundless freedom, complemented by a melancholic yet hopeful piano theme. Indigo captures the tranquil moment of a sunset over a serene landscape.

The intensity shifts with Haunted. The track delves into the depths of obsession with a mesmerizing start and evolves into a dark climax. The music video for Haunted was released on 28 June 2024 as a single to announce the new EP. The Single has obtained the coveted Vimeo staff pick and was also shared on the Director’s Library. Finally, Horizon encapsulates the stress of travel, mirroring the rhythmic, almost hypnotic sound of a train journey through intricate electronic textures.
