Alien’; a tightly spun 80s influenced dance track with otherworldly vibes. The song sees Dina Summer delve further into minimal wave territory, stripping back a synth-driven dancefloor arrangement to emphasise its pulsating bassline and otherworldly vocals.
The album draws inspiration from electronic music pioneers such as Kraftwerk, captures a range of retro-futuristic sounds. Mixing various influences, Alien is a indicative of the way in which this artist moves flexibly between past and future. Exploring the idea of “other” through an extraterrestrial narrative, the song is a tribute to outsiders and “freaks”. Alien serves as a metaphor for acceptance, openness and communication.
