Captain Mustache – Cracks In The Glass feat. dynArec EP

Captain Mustache returns to Iptamenos Discos with ‘Cracks In The Glass’, feat. dynArec and a dark sci-fi remix by Berlin’s PRZ.

Parisian producer Captain Mustache returns to Iptamenos Discos for a stellar intergalactic collaboration, joining forces with the elusive underground legend dynArec. This time, he takes us on a journey through time with his upcoming single ‘Cracks In The Glass’, accompanied by a remix from Berlin-based PRZ.

Captain Mustache has built a reputation for his genre-blending sound over the last years, and the new single is no exception. The release transitions between dark disco, electroclash, and electro. It follows seamlessly from his recent single ‘Camera Lens With Vaseline’ in collaboration with Third Culture and Victoria Rawlins.

    Featuring dynArec And PRZ

The track features a haunting vocal performance by french underground legend dynArec which is alienated by a vintage vocoder. The mysterious Vaporwave label founder who’s active since the 90s has been supported by the likes of Helena Hauff & Dave Clarke.

The EP also features a remix by PRZ, a Berlin-based DJ and producer known for his celestial melodies and dusky, energetic beats. His version takes the original into darker territory, layering high-hats, moody pads, and punchy basslines to build intensity. Futuristic synth lines add a contrasting lightness, turning the remix into a sublime, sci-fi-tinged journey.

    About Captain Mustache:

Captain Mustache is a Paris-based producer whose sound lives at the crossroads of dark disco, electroclash, and electro, infused with a strong retro-futuristic sensibility. He draws deep inspiration from vintage synthesizers, sci-fi narratives, and the raw energy of underground club culture. His productions balance shadowy atmospheres with driving, dancefloor-ready rhythms.

Over the years, Captain Mustache has developed a recognizable signature: cinematic textures, tight basslines, and an instinctive feel for tension and release. His music often blurs the line between past and future, combining nostalgic electronic elements with a contemporary edge. This approach has made him a compelling collaborator and a consistent presence within the international underground scene.

Captain Mustache is equally at home crafting immersive solo tracks. He also collaborates with vocalists and fellow producers. He continues to evolve his sound while staying rooted in the ethos of club music. Each release reflects his curiosity and versatility, positioning him as a forward-thinking artist with a clear identity and a growing global reach.

YOU\ME/ALIEN – A “Space Opera” at the Opera Lab Berlin

YOU\ME/ALIEN reimagines space opera as a sonic experiment in radical empathy—where sound, bodies, and language dissolve borders between us.

YOU\ME/ALIEN unfolds as an experiment in radical empathy, a meditation on the unknown – not as a figure of fear or exclusion, but as a presence to be reimagined. Through this lens, Opera Lab Berlin reinterprets the genre of “space opera”. It usually evokes large-scale science fiction epics. But here, it becomes a poetic and sonic journey. This journey explores the fragile and deeply political spaces between people and the way they encounter each other.

On this journey, an international group of 12 performers interlaces experimental vocal techniques and choreography with instrumental timbres from strings, winds, percussion, and electronics.  Sound becomes the terrain of encounter: unstable, searching, shifting between signal and language. The crew aboard a deep-space vessel works to interpret these signals as identities loosen and re-form, and certainty slips away.

This otherworldly sound theatre invites you to immerse yourself in a world beyond familiar boundaries and raises urgent questions: How do we hear each other across divides? How does language both connect and separate us? And how might art create the conditions for empathy to replace division?

Das Gorki im Januar: I Love Zelal von Zelal Yeşilyurt

I love Zelal: 13 blitzartige Monologe über obsessive Liebe, Ekstase & Selbstverlust.

    Text und Regie: Zelal Yeşilyurt

Jomoon – Sugar LP (Extracts) via Noiseberry

With Sugar, Jomoon crafts a tension-driven debut between UK garage, IDM and experimental electronics—raw, physical and emotionally immersive.

With Sugar, Jomoon releases her debut album on January 30, 2026 via the Leipzig-based label NOISEBERRY. The independent producer from Rome places her sound between UK garage, experimental electronic and IDM — stripped down, physical, and deliberately tension-driven.

In late 2025, Jomoon offered the first glimpses of Sugar through two striking singles. Her debut track “Confession” introduced listeners to a warm, mysterious, and emotional sonic world – a unique blend of electronica and atmospheric layers that marked the emergence of her very own musical language.

This was followed by “Human Rituals,” a second single that combines refined, edgy elements with driving rhythms. Its atmosphere shifts between mystical tension and euphoric release, establishing the track as a standout highlight of the album’s repertoire. Together, these singles merge groove and emotion, encapsulating Jomoon’s intent to craft an immersive listening experience.

    Pace, spatial depth and control

The album itself is introduced by its lead track “Fields,” which functions as a focused entry point rather than a summary, establishing pace, spatial depth and control while deliberately withholding resolution. This deliberate restraint heightens the impact of Sugar’s eventual peaks and reveals Jomoon’s command over tension and release across the record.

As a debut, Sugar is not an introduction but a declaration. Jomoon defines her artistic position with clarity and intent, merging groove and emotion into a single, focused language. Every track contributes to this cohesive statement, from the incisive rhythms to the haunting melodic textures that linger long after the music stops. Jomoon’s first full-length effort thus solidifies her unique voice in the electronic landscape, confidently heralding the arrival of a new creative force.

Mokado – WHERE DOES THE NIGHT GO? via Le Hameau Records

From dusk till dawn, Mokado’s third album turns European city heartbeats into bold, dance-driven electro journeys shaped by UK club culture.

It’s to answer this question — as poetic as it is enigmatic — that Mokado delivers his third album. More modern and dance-oriented than his previous releases, “WHERE DOES THE NIGHT GO?” surprises with its bold and daring aesthetic choices.

We still find the blend of electro-pop and melodic techno with marimba that usually defines his music. However, it’s clear that the French producer has this time turned his ears more toward the other side of the Channel. With UK Garage rhythms, pitched House vocals, and Breakbeat influences, fans of British music will feel right at home and will easily recognize echoes of London producers Jamie XX and SBTRKT throughout the album.

Paris, London, Berlin? It doesn’t matter.

It’s a tribute to British club culture, carrying us on a nocturnal wander through the arteries of a European capital. Paris, London, Berlin? It doesn’t matter. Mokado has turned the heartbeats that pace life in these great metropolises into electronic beats — an electric pulse, carefree and festive at first (THE WALK // 1:46AM, THE CLUB // 2:18AM), becoming tender and melancholic (THE MOON // 3:49AM, THE TUBE // 5:25AM) as we slowly sink deeper into the night, until the album’s final romantic sigh (THE PARK // 6:42AM).

From dusk till dawn, it’s hard to pull away from this intoxicating electro journey that takes us wherever the night goes. If you’re still looking for the answer, remember the words often attributed to Robert Louis Stevenson. “It is not the destination that matters, but the journey.”

TEASER LIVE | WDTNG TOUR: check out here

    About Mokado

Mokado is a French electronic music producer whose sound moves freely between emotion and movement, intimacy and the dancefloor. Blending electro-pop and melodic techno with distinctive elements such as marimba, his music is instantly recognizable yet constantly evolving.

With each release, Mokado explores new territories. His work is shaped by nocturnal energy and urban rhythms, drawing inspiration from European metropolises and, more recently, British club culture. Influences from UK Garage, Breakbeat, and House intertwine with melodic sensitivity, creating tracks that are both physical and introspective.

Paloceras MicroFactory: Standards of Local High-End Eyewear

Paloceras opens its Helsinki MicroFactory, uniting advanced 3D printing and hand-finished craft to redefine local, high-end eyewear production.

A New Model for Optical Production

Paloceras announces the opening of its MicroFactory in Helsinki, a new centre for high-end optical production that brings digital design, advanced 3D printing and precise hand finishing under one roof. The MicroFactory shortens the design-to-production cycle from twelve months to two weeks. It allows the brand to create expressive eyewear in both small experimental runs and refined larger batches.

    Digital Precision Meets Hand-Finished Craft

Frames inside the MicroFactory begin as digital models. They are produced with next-generation 3D printing machinery. Afterward, they are sculpted, smoothed, and completed by hand. This approach preserves the tactile qualities of traditional craft while expanding the capacity to produce consistent, high-quality pieces at scale.

Full Local Control, From Design to Finetuning & Finishes

Local modelling, printing, and finishing give Paloceras full oversight of quality, energy use, and materials. This allows the brand to operate with intention rather than excess.

    Advancing Finnish Manufacturing

“Bringing precision-made production, Finnish manufacturing and full in-house control together feels genuinely new,” says Erwin Laiho, Industrial Designer and Head of the Paloceras MicroFactory. “We can refine every detail and push the material further with each iteration, developing experimentation and consistency side by side.”

The MicroFactory restores optical production to Northern Europe at a time when most manufacturing has moved elsewhere—but technology has now developed to provide alternatives at industry-level standards.

    Technology Has Caught Up

“We have explored 3D printing for years, but the quality was never at the level we demanded,” says Mika Matikainen, Creative Director and Co-Founder of Paloceras. “The technology has now matured. The release of our first 3D-printed product, Hydroceras, proved it, with opticians around the world placing orders after seeing it in Paris.”

    What Comes Next

Following a sold-out debut, Hydroceras returned in December 2025 as a full Made in Helsinki edition with refined details and two new colourways. In 2026, the MicroFactory will introduce unprecedented designs, bespoke concepts and artist-led collaborations.

Pixel Für Pixel: Kontrolle, Code Und Wahrnehmung

Pixel bleiben meist unbeachtet.

PIXEL BY PIXEL: CONTROL, CODE, AND PERCEPTION

The BBA Gallery is proud to announce Pixel Desires, the debut solo gallery exhibition by acclaimed video artist and director Chris Kondek. The exhibition introduces a significant new body of work. It translates Kondek’s career-long investigation into code, control, and digital systems from the stage to the visual arts.

While pixels are the fundamental units of the digital image, they typically remain unnoticed. In Pixel Desires, Kondek transforms them into protagonists, investigating how algorithmic systems shape our perception through invisible rules.

    PIXELS AS PROTAGONIST

Each work in the collection begins with a photograph that is subjected to a custom-developed algorithm. Over more than 2,000 iterations, every pixel is shifted according to a simulated logic of flows and turbulences. The resulting images occupy a space between the organic and the artificial, evoking eroded landscapes, the fragility of memory, and the constant movement of data. Pixel Desires reflects on how the contemporary image—though appearing free—is profoundly defined by hidden structures of control.

    ABOUT THE ARTIST

Chris Kondek is a Berlin-based video artist and director whose work bridges the worlds of media, theater, opera, and digital performance.

International Foundation: Originally from Boston, Kondek began his career in New York with the legendary The Wooster Group and collaborated extensively with Laurie Anderson.

European Career: Since moving to Berlin in 1999, he has created pioneering video designs for major theater and opera houses across Europe. He collaborated with artists such as Meg Stuart, Sebastian Baumgarten, Stefan Pucher, Falk Richter, and Pierre Audi.

Acclaim and Awards: In 2012, he received the Faust Prize. He was honored alongside set designer Barbara Ehenes for “Quijote: Trip Zwischen Welten” at the Thalia Theater. He is also the co-founder of the award-winning performance collective doublelucky productions.

Academic Leadership: Since 2023, Kondek has shared a joint guest professorship at the Universität der Künste Berlin (UdK).

One Last Credit: 8 1/2 Bit Replays Reborn by pdqb

Six legends reunite under the flickering pdqb Arcade sign for one last coin, one last game—replaying memories as music in 8 1/2 Bit Replays.

One Coin. One Game. One Last Legend.

The neon “pdqb Arcade” sign in Port Astra flickered with the same chaotic energy it had decades ago. Six men, now with more gray hair and worries than they once had, stood at the entrance. They were the “Lucky Six,” reunited after years of scattered lives and separate paths.

“I can’t believe this place is still here” said Noise, who had flown in from Tokyo. “It hasn’t changed 8 bits, haha”. CEM, now a father of 3340 synthesizers from Bari, replied with a grin. “We have. Look at Galaxian, he’s unrecognizable!”

Each of them held a single, precious coin. Their plan, born of a wave of nostalgia and the understanding that they couldn’t stay forever, was simple: one coin, one game, one last chance to be a legend. Each man would choose the game that meant the most to him and play the round of his life…

Six Black-Belt Gamers Replaying an Album from the Inside

At the end, pdqb, the arcade owner, came up to the guys. “Don’t be sad”, he said. “Even if it was your last credit, there’s always one more somewhere in some game”. He then walked through the arcade and played four different machines that just happened to have an extra credit on them. “See?”, he said.

Synaptic Cliffs proudly presents pdqb together with six black belt gamers (PRZ, Noise&Noise, Galaxian, CEM3340, Dark Vektor, Mesak), each a legend in their own right. They don’t just replay pdqb’s 8 1/2 Bit album; they become it.

Where Arcade Memory Becomes Living Sound

Together, they embark on a journey through legendary worlds, creating a place filled with soundscapes and challenges that blur the line between music and game. They move with the rhythm of the music and face the challenges within, weaving their own stories into the fabric of the iconic work.

C/O BERLIN TALENT AWARD Themenschwerpunkt: Body Politics

Der C/O Berlin Talent Award 2026 feiert 20 Jahre Förderung und startet neu: Body Politics als Jahresthema und erstmals als Open Call.

20 Jahre C/O Berlin Talent Award

    Rückblick: New Documentary Strategies
