The ARTCO GALLERY is very pleased to announce the opening of our new temporary gallery space at Rivoli Art Center in Brussels. The first exhibition, to the opening of which we cordially invite you, is entitled “LOST & FOUND” with works by Patrick Tagoe-Turkson and Francois du Plessis. As the other 15 galleries for contemporary art under this roof are also opening their new exhibitions at the same time, a trip to Brussels is definitely worthwhile.
Patrick Tagoe-Turkson & Francois du Plessis
In “LOST & FOUND”, works by two artists will be shown who are concerned in the broadest sense with the subject of recycling objects that have lost their original utility value and have been thrown away or disposed of. The Ghanaian artist Patrick Tagoe-Turkson, collects washed-up plastic sandals, so-called “flip-flops“, on the beaches of Takoradi in order to create impressive compositions of form and colour from the individual elements. Francois du Plessis, on the other hand, uses old books as material, which he cuts up and reassembles into new sculptural objects.
