The Sprüth Magers Gallery is delighted to announce the representation of Nora Turato in partnership with LambdaLambdaLambda and Galerie Gregor Staiger. The artist’s first solo show with the gallery, NOT YOUR USUAL SELF?, is currently on view at Sprüth Magers, Berlin. Her newest performance, Cue The Sun, was commissioned by Performa and will premiere during this year’s Performa Biennial in New York. Concurrent with Frieze Los Angeles 2024 in February, Sprüth Magers’ Los Angeles gallery will present an all-encompassing solo exhibition by Turato, her first in the city.
Throughout a practice that spans performance, video, and graphic design, Turato examines the ephemeral nature of language, using text as her artistic source material. Drawing from film, advertising, literature, conversations, social media captions and theater, Turato’s works wield words with sharp wit and studied precision to reflect on the vernacular of present-day visual culture and zeitgeist.
