Lauer releases “K1m Fantasy” EP via Melodize

Good News: Melodize is bringing the world back on the dance floor with Lauer and his 4-track “K1m Fantasy” EP. Behind the label is Brooklyn-based DJ and musician Beartrax, who is known for his groovy yet moody compositions. Philipp Lauer, known as Lauer, is a true veteran in the electronic music sphere, with over 20 years of experience, yet his sound remains novel and fresh.

A-side

This time, Melodize and Lauer shape the world of a fantasy dance floor where everything is possible. “K1m Fantasy” starts with Lauer letting his confidence shine through. He is an experienced professional with a signature sound. The first track “Boss Electro” will inevitably showcase why he’s the boss.

B-side

The playful tune of “Rabbits” takes the listener on a journey through electro-induced synths much like the image of curious rabbits playing on a grass field. The eponymous B-side “K1m Fantasy” features a steadily unfolding mellow soundscape. It’s an introspective piece exploring the fantastical world of the techno dance floor. In this world, all becomes one.

Lauer’s last treat is “Choirs.” Brassy exclamations take turns with a haunting choir of electronic voices. They remind us that unity is key to pleasure and existence.

About the Artist:

Lauer (real name Philipp Lauer) is a German DJ, producer and label owner from the Frankfurt area who has been active in the electronic music scene since the late 1990s. Lauer is known for blending deep house, electro, Italo-disco and ’80s synth-pop influences. He has built a reputation for melodic, club-ready tracks. His tracks balance nostalgia with modern dance-floor energy.

He began releasing music around 2000, later gaining wider recognition with his debut album “Phillips” (2012). Over the years he has released numerous EPs and albums on respected labels and developed a distinctive sound characterized by retro-inspired synths, strong melodies and playful electronic textures.

Beyond his solo work, Lauer is also known for several influential collaborations and side projects. He forms the duo Tuff City Kids with Gerd Janson. The project is celebrated for its energetic house productions. It is also known for prolific remix work. Other projects include Black Spuma, Arto Mwambe, and Talamanca System, reflecting his wide stylistic range across disco, house and experimental electronic music.

Lauer not only produces music. He also runs his own label, Brontosaurus. He regularly performs in clubs and festivals across Europe. These performances include renowned venues like Berghain and Panorama Bar.
