Schließung des Berliner Standorts
Die Julia Stoschek Foundation wird ihren Berliner Standort in der Leipziger Straße Ende Oktober 2026 schließen und sich künftig auf temporäre Formate im In- und Ausland konzentrieren. Das Düsseldorfer Stammhaus der Stiftung eröffnet im April 2027 nach umfassenden Renovierungsarbeiten anlässlich des 20-jährigen Jubiläums wieder.
Seit der Eröffnung im Jahr 2016 zählt die Julia Stoschek Foundation zu den zentralen Kulturinstitutionen in Berlin. Mit 22 Einzel- und Gruppenausstellungen sowie zahlreichen Veranstaltungsformaten präsentierte sie ein vielfältiges Programm und ermöglichte mehr als 450.000 Besucher*innen die Auseinandersetzung mit zeitbasierter Kunst.
Künftig wird die Foundation verstärkt Projekte international realisieren. Sie knüpft an jüngste Präsentationen wie „What a Wonderful World: An Audiovisual Poem“ in Los Angeles an. Dadurch soll die Sammlung einem weltweiten Publikum zugänglich gemacht werden.
Auch ohne festen Standort bleibt die Julia Stoschek Foundation der Stadt Berlin verbunden und realisiert hier weiterhin temporäre Formate an wechselnden Orten.
„Berlin bleibt für mich ein zentraler Bezugspunkt — eine Stadt, mit der ich mich sehr verbunden fühle und die die Arbeit der Foundation maßgeblich geprägt hat. Für die Jahre in der Leipziger Straße bin ich sehr dankbar“, sagt Julia Stoschek.

Closure of the Berlin site
At the end of October 2026, the Julia Stoschek Foundation will close its Berlin location on Leipziger Straße and shift its focus to projects internationally as well as in Germany. The Foundation’s headquarters in Düsseldorf will reopen in April 2027 following extensive renovations, marking its 20th anniversary.
Since its opening in 2016, the Julia Stoschek Foundation has become one of Berlin’s leading cultural institutions. Through 22 solo and group exhibitions as well as numerous public programs, it welcomed more than 450,000 visitors to engage with time-based art.
Going forward, the Foundation will focus on international projects, building on recent presentations such as “What a Wonderful World: An Audiovisual Poem” in Los Angeles, in order to make the collection accessible to audiences worldwide.
The Julia Stoschek Foundation remains connected to the city of Berlin, and will continue to realize multiple projects at a range of locations.
