With over 28 million streams on Spotify alone and several EPs and albums under his belt, Das Mörtal has received media and radio support across the globe.
He has appeared at numerous major festivals such as Osheaga, Transmusicales de Rennes, FME, and Meg Festival, while opening on tours for the likes of Vitalic, Perturbator, and Carpenter Brut. The enigmatic producer focuses on a dark and nostalgic sound, skillfully blending genres from Techno to Occult Electro to horror and sci-fi film soundtracks – and so much more.
Das Mörtal’s music has been praised by heavyweight industry webzines. His music earned Most Added New Release on the American college radio chart Top 200 NACC. It also landed on several influential pages on YouTube such as NewRetroWave.
“Like most remixes I do, I was trying to make it sound as if this could be the original version of the track rather than have the vibe of a remix.”
Das Mörtal
Now based in Montréal, Das Mörtal began his journey in Berlin, inspired by artists such as Steve Moore and Aphex Twin. On stage, he has racked up nearly 100 shows since 2015, including more than 70 dates in the U.S. and Europe (UK, France, Scandinavia).
‘Versace Spaceship’
New York and London-based visual artist, producer, and creative director I’MMORTAL launched herself into the digital sphere in August 2023 with the release of her debut tech-house single, ‘Versace Spaceship’, and has since released a successful string of singles that have amassed nearly half a million streams on Spotify alone and praised by various tastemaker publications. Her single ‘KILLED U IN A DREAM’ has been remixed by both biskuwi and Droid Bishop.
Hailing from California, I’MMORTAL spent her childhood and teenage years playing violin in orchestras, unknowingly developing composition skills crucial for her current music production. I’MMORTAL’s audio-visual synesthesia fuses campy, otherworldly visuals to her imaginative beats.

‘Uncanny Valley’
A sonic feast, the original version of ‘Uncanny Valley’ features spooky sound effects, glitchy autotuned vocals, a prickly trap beat, and vivid lyrics exploring the blurred line between human and machine, culminating in a clubby bridge of sawtooth synths and pulsing bass that dissolves into eerie, futuristic beeps.
Das Mörtal’s take on the track, sure to ensnare fans of Carpenter Brut, Dav Dralleon, and Perturbator, trades in the slinky creepiness of the original for a heavily industrial Darksynth counterpart that retains I’MMORTAL’s patent glitchiness but splinters it into something darker, deeper, and more dangerous – a befittingly bewitching fusion of the sound of the two ‘mortals’.
About the Video
The accompanying video is a masterfully-shot cinematic vision that blurs the line between seduction and surrealism. I’MMORTAL performs on a stage with a pole. She is bathed in cool blue light against a vivid red backdrop. Wearing towering pleasers and sleek visors, she exudes both power and mystery. A monstrous man watches her through flickering screens as a shadowy figure emerges: a male dancer whose movements mirror and distort hers.
The music grows glitchier. The visuals spiral into body-horror surrealism. The man’s face warps and stretches. His body melts into a monstrous fusion of mud and clay. This evokes a nightmarish bog creature. In the haunting final moment, I’MMORTAL removes her visors to reveal a face with no eyes. Her eyes instead gleam eerily from her chest. They appear mesmerizingly inhuman, perfectly uncanny valley.
