120.000 Menschen haben 2024 das URBAN NATION Museum besucht! Sehenswert ist aber nicht allein die aktuelle Ausstellung „Love Letters to the City“, sondern auch das Programm der Martha Cooper Library zur Nacht der Bibliotheken am 4. April 2025. Außerdem beteiligen wir uns am Internationalen Museumstag mit Führungen und Workshop am 18. Mai 2025, weil wir unser Museum als Ort des gesellschaftlichen und kulturellen Austauschs verstehen. Um Austausch geht es auch bei einem besonderen Chorprojekt von einem Duo des Fresh A.I.R. Residenzprogramms.
Dear friends of URBAN NATION,
120,000 people visited the URBAN NATION Museum in 2024! Not only is the current exhibition “Love Letters to the City” worth seeing, but also the program of the Martha Cooper Library for the Night of the Libraries on April 4, 2025. Additionally, we are participating in International Museum Day with guided tours and a workshop on May 18, 2025, because we see our museum as a place of social and cultural exchange. Exchange is also the focus of a special choir project by fellows of the Fresh A.I.R. residency program.
Mit Popcorn die Martha Cooper Library entdecken
Kennst Du schon unsere Martha Cooper Library im URBAN NATION Museum? Hier findest Du besondere Literatur und Archivalien zu Graffiti und Streetart. Am 4. April 2025 laden wir Dich zur Nacht der Bibliotheken ein, den Sammlungsbestand kennenzulernen. Der Dokumentarfilm „Martha Cooper Picture Story“ gewährt einen faszinierenden Einblick in das Leben und Werk der Fotografin Martha Cooper, die seit über 40 Jahren die subkulturelle Kunst der Straßen dokumentiert.
Unser Martha-Cooper-Stipendiat Dylan Mitro hat die Mitmach-Aktion „Photo Mapping and Our History in the City: Zine Making“ vorbereitet. Die Teilnehmenden sind eingeladen, Fotos ihrer liebsten Streetart, vertrauter Orte in ihrer Nachbarschaft oder von Menschen, die sie inspirieren, mitzubringen. Mithilfe von Scannern, Smartphones, Markern, Bastelmaterialien und Drucker gestalten wir daraus gemeinsam ein kollektives Zine für die Sammlung der Bibliothek.

Have you already visited our Martha Cooper Library at the URBAN NATION Museum? Here you will find special literature and archives on graffiti and street art. On April 4, 2025, we invite you to the Night of the Libraries to get to know the collection. The documentary film “Martha Cooper Picture Story” offers a fascinating insight into the life and work of photographer Martha Cooper, who has been documenting the subcultural art of the streets for over 40 years.
Our Martha Cooper fellow Dylan Mitro has prepared the interactive activity “Photo Mapping and Our History in the City: Zine Making.” Participants are invited to bring photos of their favorite street art, familiar places in their neighborhood, or people who inspire them. Using scanners, smartphones, markers, craft materials, and printers, we will create a collective zine for the library’s collection.
When: Friday, April 4, 2025, from 6:00 PM to 10:00 PM

On International Museum Day, museums worldwide draw attention to their social role – an important concern for our URBAN NATION Museum as well. We promote understanding, tolerance, and diversity through engagement with our urban environment. STIMPATHY – Der neuroqueere Chor in Berlin
Bist du ein Mensch, der sich durch Stimming ausdrückt und lebst in Berlin? Dann schließe dich dem neuroqueeren Chor STIMPATHY an, der von Fresh A.I.R.-Duo Monika Popiel & Paweł Świerczek initiiert wird. Hier geht es nicht ums Singen, sondern um das gemeinsame Erleben und Feiern von Stimming. Die Teilnahme ist kostenlos, eine Anmeldung ist nicht erforderlich. Eingeladen sind alle Erwachsenen (18+), die daran interessiert sind, ihre Art des Stimmens gemeinsam zu erkunden.

STIMPATHY – The neuroqueer choir in Berlin
Are you someone who expresses themselves through stimming and live in Berlin? Then join the neuroqueer choir STIMPATHY, initiated by Fresh A.I.R. fellows Monika Popiel & Paweł Świerczek. This is not about singing, but about experiencing and celebrating stimming together. Participation is free, and no registration is required. All adults (18+) interested in exploring their way of stimming together are welcome.
