der Sommer gehört der Kunst im urbanen Raum. Wir feiern eine neue ONE WALL von Jim Avignon. Zur Langen Nacht der Museen wirft das URBAN NATION einen Blick auf das Spannungsfeld von Kunst, Regelbruch und gesellschaftlichen Normen.
Im September laden wir euch ein, mit Tape Art eure Visionen für ein demokratisches Miteinander sichtbar zu machen, und ab Oktober heißt es wieder: Stifte raus und Styles entwickeln beim Urban Sketch Circle mit Dejoe und Gästen der Berliner Graffiti-Szene.
Außerdem lohnt sich ein Besuch unseres Projektraums, in dem die Ausstellung THE URBAN SKIN den Spuren von Zeit, Geschichte und Wandel im urbanen Raum nachgeht.
ONE WALL von Jim Avignon
Nach zwei Communtiy Walls von Jim Avignon im Falkenhagener Feld freuen wir uns auf die Einweihung seiner ONE WALL als künstlerische Auseinandersetzung mit dem sozialen Miteinander im Quartier. Durch die Beteiligung bei der Motivfindung ist das neue Wandbild ein identitätsstiftender Ausdruck kollektiver Teilhabe und sichtbares Zeichen dafür, dass Nachbarschaft im öffentlichen Raum nicht nur dargestellt, sondern aktiv mitgestaltet werden kann.

Lange Nacht der Museen: Crime in Berlin
Die Lange Nacht der Museen steht dieses Jahr unter dem Motto „Crime in Berlin“. Das URBAN NATION Museum greift das Thema aus Sicht der Urban Contemporary Art auf und beleuchtet das Spannungsfeld von Kunst, Regelbruch und gesellschaftlicher Teilhabe. Freut euch auf Kurzführungen durch die aktuelle Ausstellung „Love Letters to the City“ sowie eine Kieztour entlang der Bülowstraße zu den Murals der URBAN NATION Initiative.
Im Museumshof interpretieren die Graffiti-Künstler Age Age und Tomsta den Begriff „Crime“ beim Live-Painting auf ihre eigene Weise und lassen ein gemeinsames Werk entstehen, dessen Ausgang bis zum letzten Sprühstoß offen bleibt.
Zum Late-Night-Special ab 23 Uhr lädt der Berliner Graffiti-Künstler Dejoe mit einem DJ-Set zum „No Crime! – Train Sketching und Beats“ ein. Auf Papier und einer vorgesprühten U-Bahn-Fläche könnt ihr eigene Buchstaben, Styles und Motive gestalten – ganz nach dem Motto: No Crime, just Style.

Tape for Democracy – Tape-Art-Workshop mit ENNICOLOR
Demokratie lebt von Vielfalt, Teilhabe und dem Austausch unterschiedlicher Perspektiven. Der offene Workshop „Tape for Democracy“ lädt dazu ein, Wünsche, Ideen und Visionen für ein demokratisches Miteinander kreativ in Wort und Bild festzuhalten.
Gemeinsam mit dem Berliner Künstlerduo ENNICOLOR entstehen aus farbigem Tape individuelle Werke, die zeigen, wie vielfältig Demokratie gedacht und gelebt werden kann. In kurzen Einführungen geben Enni und Kerim Einblicke in die Technik der Tape Art und ihre künstlerische Arbeitsweise. Der Workshop ist offen für alle Generationen, Vorkenntnisse sind nicht erforderlich und der Einstieg ist jederzeit möglich.

Urban Sketch Circle: Letters & Beats mit Dejoe & Guest
Ab Oktober startet der Urban Sketch Circle in eine neue Runde. Gemeinsam mit Dejoe und wechselnden Gästen aus der Graffiti-Szene taucht ihr in die Welt des Stylewritings und Urban Sketchings ein. Schritt für Schritt entstehen aus ersten Linien individuelle Buchstaben, Motive und Styles – begleitet von Tipps und Feedback der Künstler*innen.
Dejoe prägt die Berliner Hip-Hop- und Graffiti-Szene seit mehr als 30 Jahren und verbindet visuelle und musikalische Ausdrucksformen dieser Kultur. Als Writer und DJ liefert er nicht nur Inspiration für dein Sketchbook, sondern auch den passenden Soundtrack für den kreativen Flow.
Ob jung oder alt, allein oder gemeinsam mit Familie und Freund*innen, alle sind eingeladen mitzumachen, zu experimentieren und ihren eigenen Style zu finden.

THE URBAN SKIN. Pietro Ruffo und Jan Bauer
Welche Geschichten schreiben sich in Mauern, Fassaden und urbane Räume ein? Die Ausstellung THE URBAN SKIN versteht Architektur als lebendige Oberfläche, die von Zeit, politischen Systemen, Nutzung und menschlichen Eingriffen geprägt ist.
Der italienische Künstler Pietro Ruffo und der deutsche Künstler Jan Bauer betrachten die Stadt als Archiv aus Schichten, Spuren und Transformationen. Ihre Arbeiten machen sichtbar, wie Geschichte in Materie eingeschrieben bleibt und wie urbane Räume fortwährend neu gelesen werden können.

URBAN NATION – Long Night of Museums and Other Highlights
Dear URBAN NATION Community,
This summer belongs to art in urban spaces. We are celebrating a new ONE WALL by Jim Avignon. For the Long Night of Museums, we take a closer look at the tension between art, rule-breaking, and social norms.
In September, we invite you to make your visions for a democratic society visible through Tape Art, and starting in October it’s time again to grab your pens and develop new styles at the Urban Sketch Circle with Dejoe and guests from Berlin’s graffiti scene.
We also recommend a visit to our project space, where the exhibition THE URBAN SKIN explores traces of time, history, and transformation in urban spaces.
ONE WALL by Jim Avignon
Following two Community Walls by Jim Avignon in Falkenhagener Feld, we are looking forward to unveiling his new ONE WALL as an artistic exploration of social interaction and community life in the neighborhood. Through the participatory process of developing the motif, the new mural has become an expression of collective engagement and a visible sign that neighborhoods in public spaces are not only represented but can be actively shaped.

Long Night of Museums: Crime in Berlin
This year’s Long Night of Museums is dedicated to the theme “Crime in Berlin.” URBAN NATION Museum explores the topic from the perspective of Urban Contemporary Art, highlighting the tension between art, rule-breaking, and social participation. Look forward to short guided tours through the current exhibition “Love Letters to the City” as well as a neighborhood tour along Bülowstraße featuring murals created by the URBAN NATION Initiative.
In the museum courtyard, graffiti artists Age Age and Tomsta will interpret the term “Crime” in their own way through a live painting session, creating a collaborative artwork whose final outcome remains open until the last spray stroke.
For the late-night special starting at 11 pm, Berlin graffiti artist Dejoe invites you to “No Crime! – Train Sketching and Beats” with a DJ set. On paper and a pre-sprayed subway surface, you can create your own letters, styles, and motifs – following the motto: No Crime, just Style.

Tape for Democracy – Tape Art Workshop with ENNICOLOR
Democracy thrives on diversity, participation, and the exchange of different perspectives. The open workshop “Tape for Democracy” invites participants to creatively capture their wishes, ideas, and visions for a democratic society through words and images.
Together with Berlin-based artist duo ENNICOLOR, participants will create individual artworks using colorful tape, showing the many ways democracy can be imagined and experienced. In short introductions, Enni and Kerim will share insights into the technique of Tape Art and their artistic approach. The workshop is open to all generations, no previous experience is required, and participants can join at any time.

Urban Sketch Circle: Letters & Beats with Dejoe & Guests
Starting in October, the Urban Sketch Circle returns for a new series. Together with Dejoe and changing guests from Berlin’s graffiti scene, you will dive into the worlds of style writing and urban sketching. Step by step, first lines turn into individual letters, motifs, and styles – accompanied by tips and feedback from the artists.
Dejoe has shaped Berlin’s Hip-Hop and graffiti scene for more than 30 years and connects the visual and musical expressions of this culture. As a writer and DJ, he not only provides inspiration for your sketchbook but also the perfect soundtrack for the creative flow.
Whether young or old, joining alone or with family and friends – everyone is invited to participate, experiment, and find their own style.

What stories are written into walls, facades, and urban spaces? The exhibition THE URBAN SKIN understands architecture as a living surface shaped by time, history, political systems, use, and human intervention.
The Italian artist Pietro Ruffo and German artist Jan Bauer view the city as an archive of layers, traces, and transformations. Their works reveal how history remains inscribed in materials and how urban spaces can be continuously reinterpreted.
