Traces is a five-track electronic dance-pop EP shaped by momentum and presence, moving between late-night club energy and grounded mid-tempo depth. Having previously released music through New York’s queer electronic label Royal Advisor Records and received radio support from Radio X’s John Kennedy – including two “Record of the Week” selections and a live studio performance – 7t2names continues to refine a sound that blends electronic pulse with direct, meaningful lyrics. Traces is written and produced with Tareq of Boys‘ Shorts, extending a creative partnership that previously saw 7t2names feature on the club track New Era.

Brightest Star
Opening in a late-night cityscape, Brightest Star builds into a driving groove rooted in classic crossover club energy, while Something’s Weighing Me Down raises the intensity through hard-driving rhythm and soaring arpeggiated lines, building from pressure into euphoric release. Hi! then shifts into off-beat territory, combining reggae-leaning rhythm and glitch-textured guitars. Delivered in a spoken-word style, it reflects the rush and heightened energy of first connection.
From there, Reach Up for Your Crown expands the scope and mantra. Moving through syncopated beats and kaleidoscopic textures, it escalates toward its chant-like chorus before dropping back into pulsing momentum. A psychedelic mid-section adds contrast while maintaining the drive.
Love Is Coming Home
The EP closes with Love Is Coming Home, a mid-tempo electronic ballad that provides contrast and depth. Gradually unfolding, it reframes love not simply as romance but as return – steady, grounded and fully present.
Visually cohesive and supported by two music videos, Traces will also be accompanied by additional remixes and alternate versions – including contributions from Vhyce and a Tareq dub – extending its electronic foundation further into club territory. The EP marks a clear evolution in sound and storytelling for 7t2names.
