Focusing on the subjective perception of places rather than objective reality, she examines idealizations and stereotypes of the South and their influence on our perceptions. Identity is a central theme in her work, reflecting her own background and exploring concepts of belonging and a sense of home. By using found footage, she contrasts historical representations of the South with contemporary approaches, questioning photography as a medium of cultural and temporal expression.
