Soy Capitán in venice: Rachel Youn – Unruly Vessel

Rachel Youn’s Unruly Vessel explores ritual and repetition through kinetic sculptures merging wellness devices and artificial nature in Venice.

Reading Time:
1–2 minutes

Unruly Vessel, a solo exhibition by Rachel Youn, opens this week at Scuola Piccola Zattere in Venice. Youn works with kinetic sculpture and installation, combining wellness devices – massagers, baby rockers, exercise equipment – with artificial plants. The works engage with repetitive motion and ritual-like gestures, reflecting on individual and collective behaviors embedded in contemporary life. The exhibition brings together new works developed during a residency at the institution alongside recent works.
