Paradoxical Implants EP – The Ultimate Dreamers & Implants

A dark fusion of post-punk and EBM: The Ultimate Dreamers reborn through Len Lemeire’s bold remixes of Paradoxical Sleep.

Reading Time:
2–3 minutes

Following the acclaimed album Paradoxical Sleep, Belgian post-punk outfit The Ultimate Dreamers return with a special 6-track remix EP created in close collaboration with their long-time producer Len Lemeire – also known for his work with Implant.

What began as a simple remix request quickly evolved into something far more ambitious. Caught in the creative momentum, Len Lemeire ended up deconstructing and rebuilding 6 songs from “Paradoxical Sleep” – tracks he had already shaped in the studio during months of production. The result is more than just a remix EP. It is a genuine fusion between two sonic identities. The melancholic post-punk of The Ultimate Dreamers collides with the sharp electronic edge of Implant.

Each track is reborn from a new angle. “Digging” dives into harsher, noisy territories of broken beats and dense electronics, while “Kids Alone” leans into a more classic EBM pulse. “Spiritchaser” shines with an irresistible synth-driven glow, blending old-school electronics with the song’s original spirit, while “Far Away” expands its emotional depth through richer synthetic textures.

The haunting “Into The Fog” takes a more spectral turn. It amplifies its dreamlike atmosphere. “Envoler” is stripped down and reshaped with a subtle cold-wave aura. It is inspired by the timeless melancholy of TRISOMIE 21. More than a remix project, this EP stands as a true artistic dialogue between two projects sharing a long creative history.

A Brief description

Post-punk shadows meet electronic body music, introspection meets rhythm, nostalgia meets the dancefloor. A bold reinterpretation of Paradoxical Sleep, and a fascinating bridge between the worlds of The Ultimate Dreamers and Implant.

Here is a well-researched “About the Artists” text suitable for press kits, Bandcamp, or promo use:

About the Artists

The Ultimate Dreamers are a Belgian post-punk and cold wave outfit originally formed in the mid-1980s in Lessines, the hometown of surrealist painter René Magritte. After an extended hiatus, the band re-emerged in 2021, breathing new life into their early recordings and quickly establishing themselves as a compelling force in the contemporary darkwave scene.

Their sound merges melancholic post-punk textures with cold wave atmospheres, combining organic instrumentation—guitar, bass, and cello—with subtle electronic elements. Lyrically, their work explores themes of dreams, emotional disquiet, love, and social disillusionment, often wrapped in introspective and surreal narratives.

Following their comeback compilation Live Happily While Waiting For Death (2021), the band gained international attention with Echoing Reverie (2023), a critically acclaimed album that led to extensive live performances across Europe. They continued this momentum with Paradoxical Sleep (2025), further refining their signature blend of nostalgic cold wave and modern production.

Central to their recent evolution is their long-standing collaboration with Len Lemeire, a key figure in the European electronic scene. Known as a founding member of Implant and for his work with artists such as Anne Clark and 32Crash, Lemeire brings a sharp electronic edge to the band’s sound. As producer, remixer, and creative partner, he plays a crucial role in shaping the hybrid sonic identity that bridges post-punk melancholy with EBM-driven precision.

The Ultimate Dreamers and Len Lemeire create a unique artistic dialogue together. It is grounded in shared history yet constantly evolving. Analog emotion meets electronic intensity in their work. Past influences collide with forward-thinking production.
