Das Emerging Change Tanzfestival ist ein Tanzfestival von und für Queer, Trans, Black, Indigenous, People of Color (QTBIPoC) Tanzkünstler:innen und schafft einen radikalen Raum für Transformation und Feier. Das Festival bietet eine Plattform, auf der etablierte und aufstrebende internationale sowie in Berlin ansässige Künstlerinnen ihre Arbeit präsentieren können.
Ziele und Mission
Das Festival hat die Mission, künstlerische Zusammenarbeit, nicht-hierarchisches Mentoring und den Austausch innerhalb der Gemeinschaft zu fördern. Es zielt auf eine auf Fürsorge basierende Arbeitskultur ab, die QTBIPoC-Tanzkünstler*innen und deren Verbündete unterstützt und strukturellen Rassismus sowie Tokenismus im Tanzbereich entgegenwirkt. Alle Veranstaltungen sind öffentlich zugänglich und entweder kostenfrei oder nach einem “Sliding Scale”-Modell.
Fünf Wochen und eine Fülle an Inspiration
Das Festival erstreckt sich über fünf Wochen und umfasst:
- Performances: Aufführungen von renommierten und neuen Künstler*innen wie mayfield brooks, femBlack Performance Collective, vAL, Djibril Sall, Elvan Tekin u.a.
- Workshops und Gespräche: Themen wie Restorative Practices, Somatic Decolonization und Community Care werden in Workshops für BIPoC und gemischte Gruppen behandelt.
- Residencies: Künstler*innen wie ShahrZad und Djibril Sall präsentieren in Residenzen ihre Arbeiten.
- Feier: Eine Abschlussfeier mit DJ Rafush lädt zur kollektiven Freude und Vernetzung ein.

Das Festival arbeitet mit Berliner Partnerinstitutionen wie Tanzfabrik Berlin, Radialsystem, Uferstudios, Casa Kuà und GLADT e.V. zusammen. Es wird durch den Hauptstadtkulturfonds und den IMPACT Fund der Senatsverwaltung für Kultur und gesellschaftlichen Zusammenhalt gefördert.
Die Hauptzielgruppe sind Queer und Trans, Black, Indigenous und People of Color, Menschen mit Migrationshintergrund, 2SLGBTQIA+ Allies, Menschen mit Behinderungen sowie die Arbeiter*innenklasse. Zum Festivalprogramm

The Emerging Change Dance Festival is a dance festival by and for Queer, Trans, Black, Indigenous, People of Colour (QTBIPoC) dance artists and creates a radical space for transformation and celebration. The festival provides a platform for established and emerging international and Berlin-based artists to present their work.
Our Goals and mission
The festival’s mission is to promote artistic collaboration, non-hierarchical mentoring and community exchange. It aims to foster a caring work culture that supports QTBIPoC dance artists and their allies and counteracts structural racism and tokenism in the dance field. All events are open to the public and either free of charge or on a sliding scale model.
Five Weeks and a bundle of Inspiration
The festival spans five weeks and includes:
- Performances: Performances by renowned and new artists such as mayfield brooks, femBlack Performance Collective, vAL, Djibril Sall, Elvan Tekin and others.
- Workshops and talks: Topics such as Restorative Practices, Somatic Decolonisation and Community Care are covered in workshops for BIPoC and mixed groups.
- Residencies: Artists such as Shahr Zad and Djibril Sall present their work in residencies.
- Celebration: A closing party with DJ Rafush invites you to join in the collective fun and networking.

The festival works together with Berlin partner institutions such as Tanzfabrik Berlin, Radialsystem, Uferstudios, Casa Kuà and GLADT e.V.. It is supported by the Capital Cultural Fund and the IMPACT Fund of the Senate Department for Culture and Social Cohesion.
