Culterim: An Exciting New Spaces Announcement

Gegen & Lücke celebrates 1 year! New spaces, shows, and opportunities await—join us in April as our creative community continues to grow and connect.

Reading Time:
4–5 minutes

There was already a lot to celebrate in March: Gegen & Lücke had its first anniversary! We would like to extend a massive thank you to everyone who supported us along the way, from showing up to openings and community events to engaging with the artists and artworks. With a new year comes many new developments that we hope you will get to experience with us.

In other celebratory news, we announced the winner of our work scholarship at the end of February, and would like to congratulate Elena Dorn on receiving this year’s scholarship. As we prepare for April, we’re sharing new studio availabilities, exhibition spaces for rent, and a free spot in our Independent Class. We look forward to seeing you there, or in our gallery, studios and spaces!

Our Monthly Highlight

We are excited to announce a new location for our Culterim | Spaces! A new space is opening at Ostbahnhof, one of Berlin’s transportation hubs in the heart of Friedrichshain. With an inaugural exhibition opening in April, we hope this space becomes another place for creative expression and community to come together. Check out the upcoming exhibitions and open calls under ‘Spaces’ or on our website, here.

Galerie Gegen & Lücke

Last week, Kevin Lüdicke’s solo exhibition ‘The Diver’s Dream of Flying’ opened at Galerie Gegen & Lücke. Thank you to everyone who made it to the opening! The artist will be at the gallery at 2pm on April 18, 2026 to discuss his work and the show with visitors.

“Shoes, water, and bouquets repeatedly appear as motifs throughout the exhibition, tapping into the artist’s deep affinity with nature and understanding of the art historical weight they carry. Even in his drawings, water appears as a river and a pool, as seen in ‘Little Reminder’ and ‘Auch Enten fliegen in den Süden’. Lüdicke is worldbuilding, perhaps in a subconscious way, but distinctly enough that we feel enticed to enter. Space feels less defined, but is held together by an authentic commitment to a vision.”

Spaces

We’re happy to announce a new Culterim | Spaces location at Berlin Ostbahnhof, opening this April.  When one door closes, another one opens – following the closure of our Culterim | Spaces | Alex location, we’re happy to continue in a new location,  a 60 m² space inside the Ostbahnhof train station.

Much like our other Culterim | Spaces, the new space will be dedicated to exhibitions, artistic interventions, and experimental formats. The first event will take place in April, marking the beginning of a new series of projects. The venue can be booked for 15 € per day (excl. VAT).If you’re interested in using the space, feel free to reach out to our team at: spaces@culterim.de

More details to be published soon on our Website and Instagram

Upcoming Shows

Schicht für Schicht at Culterim | Spaces | WINDOW

09.03 – 29.03.2026

“This exhibition has the working title “Layer by Layer”.
It’s about what lies beneath the surface: personal processes, transformation, fractures, masks, vulnerability – about removing facades, revealing inner states.
Layers. Fractures. Depth.
Between clarity and dissolution.
An analog space for emotions in a digital world.”

Death? Yes / No / Maybe at Culterim | Spaces | Rossmann

20.03 – 25.03.2026

The exhibition Death? Yes/ No/ Maybe explores humanity’s enduring pursuit of immortality through the intersecting fields of contemporary art, scientific research, and speculative practice. Bringing together visual artworks, live performances, immersive environments, and participatory experiences, the exhibition examines how the desire to transcend biological limits is reshaping culture, identity, and the future of the human body.

Alongside the artworks, the exhibition will host a series of panel talks and public discussions featuring artists, scientists, researchers, and theorists working in fields related to aging, life extension, and biotechnology. These conversations aim to contextualize the artistic works within current scientific debates, addressing ethical, social, and philosophical questions surrounding radical longevity, access to life-extending technologies, and the redefinition of mortality.

The walls are awake at Culterim | Spaces | Ostbahnhof

06.04 – 24.04.2026

“This is not a traditional exhibition: while the artist KPNC presents selected works, a temporary mural takes shape on site step by step, existing only for the duration of the show. The space turns into an open studio for a limited time before returning to its original form.

The exhibition concept builds on recent mural projects in Bangkok, Thailand, where the act of painting itself brought people together and created genuine connections. This format transfers that dynamic into a new context, turning the exhibition into a living space for encounter and exchange.”

Bid4Auction presents BID4CONNECTION BERLIN 2026 at Culterim | Spaces | Rossmann

18.03 – 28.03.2026

“Bid4Connection brings together artists from different countries, artistic backgrounds and visual languages. While each artist works independently, the exhibition explores a shared idea – connection.

Through painting, sculpture, photography and mixed media, the presented works reflect personal, cultural, emotional and conceptual connections. Each artwork becomes a point of dialogue, revealing how artists interpret relationships between people, ideas, memories and places.

Hosted at Culterim Spaces Berlin, the exhibition creates a dynamic environment where diverse artistic voices intersect and resonate.”
