Dina Summer

Two synthesizers, one microphone, pounding disco beats under rattling bass sequences. A sound with roots in Italo disco classics, new wave and punk – combined with electroclash from the noughties: Dina Summer breaks with lazy conventions and catapults us straight into a new era of dark disco. Behind Dina Summer are Kalipo, who as a member and producer of the electro-punk band Frittenbude has been toiling away on the big and small stages of Germany for more than a decade, and the DJ duo Local Suicide, who have been touring the world’s clubs for years. It consists of Max Brudi aka Brax Moody from Munich and Dina aka Vamparela from Greece, who gives the trio a voice with her unmistakable accent and spoken words – sometimes in English, Greek or German.
