Summerlights @ The Dark Matter Berlin

This year, a very special highlight will shine on the outdoor area of DARK MATTER: the 16-meter-high light sculpture STALACTITE.

From Thursdays to Sundays, SUMMERLIGHTS is open with STALACTITE. The luminous sculpture by light artist Christopher Bauder and WHITEvoid can be enjoyed in the evening from 8 pm onwards with cool drinks and fine electronic music on comfortable seating. Of course, there is also plenty of room for dancing. The huge construction of 360 light rods floats above the visitors and shines in complex, pulsating shapes and patterns. Software generates the light animations in real time as an immediate reaction to the music. With STALACTITE, SOMMERLIGHTS invites you to enter a new audio-visual world of light, space and sound.

DJs and other live acts will light up the pyramid and ensure unforgettable summer evenings in the open air. Tickets for SOMMERLIGHTS are available online and at the box office. As the permanent exhibition DARK MATTER works via time slots, the combined ticket DARK MATTER and SOMMERLIGHTS is only available online.

Almost like the omnipresence of the iconic diamons in „The Sims“ the stalactite not only represents a reminescence of the past, but also the future as a modern day relict of a climate change caused crisis. Definitly worth a visit and reflexion round under the lights of the stalactite and accompanied by bombastic beats.
