Die Gruppenausstellung zeigt mit BELIEVE vom 3.6.-3.9.2023, Werken von neun Künstler:innen und startet in sein siebtes Jahr seit Gründung des Projektraums. Das Sommerprogramm mit dem Titel BELIEVE fragt, woran wir heute glauben. Teil des Programms sind eine ebenfalls Performances sowie Lese- und Konzertreihen. Die Skulpturen, Installationen, Performances, Workshops und Events beschäftigen sich mit der Interaktion von Glauben und unserem Alltag.

Warum glauben wir an höhere (reale oder surreale) Mächte? Welche Faszination geht von Mystik aus? Die bildenden und darstellenden Künstler:innen, Autor:innen und Musiker:innen präsentieren moralische Orientierungshilfen, trostspendende Ideen und moderne, teilweise humorvolle Mythologie.

Stacie Ant, Jimmy Beauquesne, Zhao Chongjin, Christina Krys Huber, Maria Loboda, Sahej Rahal, Aziza Shadenova, Ghita Skali und Dardan Zhegrova. 

Performanceserie:

Amala Dianor, Zoncy Heavenly, Miriam Kongstad, Mandla Rae und Trust. Die Lesereihe wird kuratiert von Anna Akosua und Broken Dimanche Press. Die Konzertreihe wird zusammengestellt vom Berliner Musiklabel Unguarded. 

Die eingeladenen Künstler:innen produzieren für den ungewöhnlichen Kontext neue Exponate oder passen existierende Werke an den Ort an. Einige von ihnen waren bisher noch nicht in Berlin zu sehen.

TROPEZ, Space for Art, Summer Pool Humboldthain

As part of the Project Space Festival Berlin 2023 TROPEZ brings art into the public pool Sommerbad Humboldthain in Berlin Wedding. On 3.6. the art space opens the group exhibition BELIEVE with works by nine artists and starts its seventh year since the foundation of the project space. The summer programme, called BELIEVE, asks what we believe in today.  

Part of the programme is a group exhibition, performances, and readings as well as concert series. The sculptures, installations, performances, workshops and events deal with the interaction of believing and our everyday life. Why do we believe in higher (real or surreal) powers? What is the fascination of mysticism? The visual and performing artists, authors and musicians present moral guidance, comforting ideas and modern, sometimes humorous mythology. 

A group exhibition with Stacie Ant, Jimmy Beauquesne, Zhao Chongjin, Christina Krys Huber, Maria Loboda, Sahej Rahal, Aziza Shadenova, Ghita Skali and Dardan Zhegrova. Performance series with Amala Dianor, Zoncy Heavenly, Miriam Kongstad, Mandla Rae and Trust. The Reading series is curated by Anna Akosua and Broken Dimanche Press.

The concerts are arranged by the Berlin-based music label Unguarded. The invited artists produce new exhibits for the unusual context or adapt existing works to the location. Some of them have not been seen in Berlin before.
