Fotografiska: Upcoming – Shirin Neshat

English: Through Shirin Neshat’s stunningly stark black and white photographs and video work, the show The Fury sheds on the lived realities of sexually exploited female political prisoners in the Republic of Iran. Be one of the first to see the new exhibition at Fotografiska Berlin.

English: Kilowatt, the electronic music collective, and Taboo, a Black-led creative agency, are set to engage in a discussion about Black community and culture within the music industry. This collaborative initiative between these two seeks to strengthen the bonds between Black music creatives, as well as provide a platform to discuss their perspectives on the music scene, in Germany and beyond. 

Deutsch: Kilowatt, ein electronic Musikkollektiv, und Taboo, eine von Schwarzen geführte Kreativagentur, werden über Schwarze Community und Kultur innerhalb der Musikindustrie diskutieren. Ziel der Initiative ist es, Schwarze Musikschaffende stärker zu vernetzen und ihnen eine Plattform zu bieten, um ihre Perspektiven auf die Musikszene in Deutschland und darüber hinaus zu diskutieren. 

English: Using self-portraiture as a tool to engage with complex representational politics, Victor Omar Diop’s work can be seen as community embodiment; giving his image as a voice to others. Recently, he and Azu Nwagbogu, the director of the African Artists’ Foundation talked about Diop’s collection of work currently on view at our museum, his artistic practice, as well as his identity as an artist with strong African roots. 

Deutsch: Victor Omar Diop nutzt das Selbstporträt als Instrument, um sich mit komplexer Repräsentationspolitik auseinanderzusetzen. Indem seine Arbeiten eine Stimme für andere sind, verkörpern sie Gemeinschaft. Er und Azu Nwagbogu, der Direktor der African Artists’ Foundation, sprachen über Diops Werk, das zurzeit in unserem Museum zu sehen ist, seine künstlerische Praxis sowie seine Identität als Künstler mit afrikanischen Wurzeln.
