Save the date and plan your journey: the Sprüth Magers Gallery is presenting a whole range of highly outstanding and international artist at the Art Basel, from June 15–18, 2023. Artists such as Anne Imhof, Barbara Kruger, Nancy Holt, Thomas Scheibitz and many more will be present with their work at the Booth. The Sprüth Magers Artist Booth is placed at 2.0 B19.

Anne Imhof
Her work Jester is a two-channel video installation that was conceived for the 2022 Aichi Triennale in Japan. The film is based on footage of Imhof՚s 2021 performance Natures Mortes at Palais de Tokyo in Paris. Joint presentation with Galerie Buchholz.

Barbara Kruger
In Untitled (Our Leader), a haunting image reminiscent of a ventriloquist dummy is overlaid with bold white type on red rectangles. The video is punctuated by what sounds like a hammer striking an anvil as the words ‘Our Leader’ rapidly transform into ‘Our Lender’ or ‘Our Liar.’ Joint presentation with David Zwirner.

Nancy Holt
The room-sized installation Mirrors of Light I plays with the proliferation of light reflected in ten circular mirrors, which create fragmented, increasingly elliptical projections as one moves through space. Simultaneously, the new publication Nancy Holt: Locating Perception will be launched and available at the booth.

Thomas Scheibitz
Speicher, Tender, Paradies is a monumental triptych arranged as a frieze over 10 meters in length. The work is a prime example of Scheibitz’s signature pictorial language, engaging his varied catalog of painterly gestures. Joint presentation with Tanya Bonakdar Gallery.
